You better use the menu of your script management addon (such as TamperMonkey), enter the "Advanced Config" under Enhanced word highlight item, and take your choice within "How do you want the highlight panel show:" section.
Because the [x_slim_panel] variable inside the script code is used for initial configurations, which assign the default configurations when a user installs Ewh for the first time. After the first run Ewh will write configurations to the storage of above-mentioned addon and refer to the stored (and usually user-customized) configurations instead.
