When you open your script manager popup from the toolbar icon, do you see a "Settings" button below the script name? (It should be there if you're in Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey). If so, click on it and set a smaller number to the "Minimum column width" option.
If not, you may need to go the code and edit the "columnMinWidth" value, but this will turn off auto updates.
I'm using violentmonkey. The setting buttons below the script actually does nothing for me. Clicking it doesn't open any popup or anything. Changed the "columnMinWidth" value to 200 and now it works.

Well it half works. Grid view only shows 3 vids per row even after following the answer provided by the author to install the youtube row fixer script. Definitely better than the list view but still not the best experience.
