I revamped the script: now it makes the small map clickable, linking to Google Maps results.

As of v2.0.1, the script brings back the "Maps" button in the upper navigation bar.

Actually on my side :
-> unfortunately, the small map isn't clickable

I can confirm I have commented the code relating to the minimap, until I got some time to fix it.
Anyway, when clicking on the minimap Google natively provides a button to open navigation mode (i.e. Maps in mobile mode), so I'm wandering if it makes sense to tinker with the minimap at all.
Next goal is making the script work on mobile too (I tested it in Firefox for Android and the "Maps" button does not show), but again: two clicks on the minimap bring to Maps app, so I'm not sure any manipulation of the page code is worth the effort.

That interests me, because I use a lot Kiwi Browser under Android :-)
