If you Play normal you need the Ressources. U cant Do anything there
Here's a scenario, if you need to kill someone and you go to the farm where they are at and the rest of your team is at, then you need to kill them as fast as possible before they kill your team
than kill them.
if you dont have much time to kill them and you have not many resources then you need to kill them with boost spike before they get to you you need to not do spikes until to are close to person. simple as that.
you cant do something there.

500 res? Wow! I only know 100. So you have the code for it?
Can you make a resource efficient mode? Sometimes it can be challenging to kill someone when you are low on resources, maybe for boost spike just spaced out boost pads until you reach the person you want to kill and spike then, etc.
