I've been enjoying this for a few months now, and it's taken me too long to realize that this script is the cause of a problem I've been having.
It breaks some fonts on different webpages. Instead of fonts loading properly, they load as Times New Roman. Disabling the script and refreshing fixes it. Reenabling the script and refreshing again breaks it again.

Any thoughts on how this could be fixed?

Unfortunately, this is a half-measure. This script will not work perfectly for all web pages. It is much better if web developers themselves implement emojis in their font stack. In recent months, after the Chromium update, the script stopped working for me in certain tasks, this is very sad. I think we were simply deprived of the opportunity to display emojis everywhere.
