YouTube Subtitle Downloader v4

🚀 What does this script do?

This script makes downloading subtitles from YouTube videos incredibly fast and easy. Instead of relying on complex parsers that often break when YouTube updates, this script acts as a bridge to the reliable DownSub service, but fully automates the process.

✨ Key Features

  • Integrated UI: Adds a clean, native-looking "Download Subtitle" button to the YouTube video action bar (next to Like/Share).
  • Format Choice: When clicked, a beautiful popup asks if you want the subtitle in .SRT (for video players) or .TXT (for reading).
  • Full Automation:
    • It opens DownSub in a new tab.
    • It automatically selects the English version (or default language).
    • It clicks the download button for your chosen format.
    • It closes the tab automatically once the download starts.
  • Reliable: Uses aggressive element detection to work even if YouTube or DownSub slightly change their layouts.

🛠️ How to use

  1. Install the script.
  2. Go to any YouTube video.
  3. Click the "Download Subtitle" button near the Like/Dislike buttons.
  4. Select SRT or TXT from the popup.
  5. Watch the magic happen (a new tab will open, download the file, and vanish instantly).

  • Permissions: Uses window.close to tidy up the download tab for you.
