Replace broken Bibliographic Explorer with Semantic Scholar Graph API (with icons, local API key config)
The BibExplorer of arXiv stops working for me every now and then. I have seem 404, CORS issues, etc. and I don't know what is the root cause. ChatGPT suggested that Semantic Scholar is replacing the original API with the graph API so I vibe coded this script to make use of the new API. For some reason, I was always rate limited, possibly due to me using a shared network provided by the university. So this script requires an API key. You can apply for one from Semantic Scholar and from my experience the request will get approved within a few hours.
