A simple but powerful extension that closes tabs based on scroll distance rather than time. Could be the perfect solution who find that time limits do not work for them.

Instructions:

1) It should be easy and self-explanatory to use. After installing, navigate to Tamper Monkey and there will be 3 functions - setting the scroll distance (in pixels), adding a website, and removing a website.

2) There are default scroll distances and websites, but it's a good idea to personalize it. It might take a few tries to find a good scroll distance that prevents unwanted scrolling.

This extension is aimed at those who are prone to scrolling addiction, or those who will procrastinate closing a tab on an additive website. The reason why this method may be more helpful than convention time limits is due to the fact that a time limit does not prevent you from scrolling for large blocks of time, e.g. 30 minutes blocks, before the time runs out. Additionally, time limits are easy to remove/uninstall. With Scroll Stopper, there is no incentive to remove it because you will always be able to access the website, but without the risk of doomscrolling.

It is effective for me, because you don't know when the website will close out, so it's a "surprising event" when it happens, instantly taking my mind away from the scrolling. Thus, I personally don't feel any desire to go back to the site. This is really powerful in combination with the mindset of associating "negativity" with when the tab closes, so you learn that this is a bad behaviour.
