Pointing at a link is a great way to get more information about where it leads. On a Wikipedia article, someone who is not familiar with American acronyms might see a link called “FBI”. In properly written articles, this person does not have to click the link to find out that it means “Federal Bureau of Investigation”. He or she merely needs to point at it to see that the link target is “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Bureau_of_Investigation”.

This script fixes articles so that more of them follow this practice. Every time an acronym link is detected where the full target is still an acronym, the script will fetch the page in the background, read the title and update the target appropriately.
