🎚️ NeoGAF EQ | The Forum Equalizer

NeoGAF EQ is a precision community-management suite. It moves beyond simple blocking by providing a dual-channel "Equalizer" that lets you silence the noise while amplifying the voices you value.

🚀 Core EQ Channels

🟢 The Boost Channel (Amplify)

  • Visual Glow: Boosted users' posts are highlighted with a subtle green tint and a bold left-border.
  • Status Badge: A sleek "BOOSTED" badge appears under the user's title.
  • Thread Highlighting: In the forum list (e.g., Gaming Discussion), threads started by Boosted users are lit up, making them impossible to miss.

🔴 The Mute Channel (Attenuate)

  • Surgical Mutes: Standard replies are hidden and replaced with a slim placeholder.
  • OP Transparency: Thread-starters (OPs) are never fully hidden; instead, they are marked with a "MUTED USER" warning and your private context remark.
  • Surgical Quote EQ: Quotes from muted users inside other people's posts are automatically collapsed. Click the placeholder to reveal them instantly.
  • Ghosted Threads: In forum lists, muted threads are "ghosted" (lowered opacity) but remain readable, with the starter's name highlighted in red for quick identification.

🛠️ Control Deck

  • The EQ Hub: A minimal, monospace readout at the top of the forum showing live counts: Muted Total (On Page) | Boosted Total (On Page).
  • Contextual Toggles: Post sidebars feature smart [M] | [B] clusters that dynamically swap to [UM] (Unmute) or [UB] (Unboost) when a filter is active.
  • EQ Control Panel: A centralized modal to manage your lists.
    • Private Remarks: Add up to 30 characters of context (e.g., "Spoilers" or "Great Tech Posts") to any user.
    • Instant Pruning: Click the ✕ to normalize any user's "volume" instantly.

📘 How to Use

  1. To Mute: Click [M]. You will be prompted for an optional reason.
  2. To Boost: Click [B]. The user is instantly amplified.
  3. To Manage: Click [Control Panel] in the top EQ Hub to edit your notes or clear your lists.
