Fork of AhhMyEyes. Original description:

Adds a small button and inverts colors of the page except images.
So you can browse eye burning light colored pages as dark.
Remembers your latest setting.

The fork:

  • Changes the effect of the filter by hue-shifting the page back to the original hue
    • This effect is not perfect due to how hue-shifting works in most browsers, but the effect should be close to inverting only the lightness of the page and not the colors. Most of the time this looks better IMO.
  • Adds handling of the user's dark/light mode preference (system setting).
    • When the preferred theme is LIGHT, the script never activates.
    • When the preferred theme is DARK, the script functions as normal.
    • When the preference changed, the script reacts to it without having to reload the page.
  • Makes the crescent moon icon transparent
