This script lets you dynamically load local images to overlay them over wplace's pixel grid, helping you know where yo place your pixels. This script is not affiliated, nor specifically approved by https://wplace.live and I, the autor, am not responsible for what you do with it, or what may result of you using it.

That said, all it does is by intercepting the fetch requests, and modifying the data as it arrives on your PC. No other network modification is done. You should be safe.

This script adds a convenient interface. You can switch between three different viewing modes :

  • Overlay : the image you loaded is shown as if all its pixels were correctly placed on the Wplace grid (yes, you can pick colors from the preview; also yes, pixels will not be paletised and can take any color. Change your image before loading it !). In this mode, if the original pixels are colored the SAME as the overlay, the pixels becomes GREEN.
  • OnlyNonBlank : Everywhere the pixels are transparent, your image's pixels will appear; but if any pixels originally were there, they will override your preview's pixels
  • ColorSelect : choose a color in the color picker. Every pixel that you need to color in that color will be white; others (including the ones you've already colored) are black
  • FindWrong : puts red everywhere the expected color is not the current canvas color
  • Original: the original grid, no overlay

You can set the origin for your loaded image by clicking the relevant button, then clicking on the origin pixel. Origin is the topmost-leftmost pixel of your image.

You can load a file from your PC by clicking the relevant button too. If the image is too big, it may not load at all. I'll make it warn you if that happens later

You can save a currently loaded image, its filename and its origin point to localStorage. This lets you (later) select the file name from a list, and load it with one button click. You can also remove images from localStorage that way.

You need to wait about 5s for the overlay to update. This script now able to let you overlay your image over multiple chunks !! Also sometimes you need to zoom/dezoom, or switch from/to Original for your changes to apply. Idk why and I won't focus too much on it, sorry

By default, the overlay is for https://notepad.pw/markdown/SLUwNRBusMgwkRyJ50yy
