A script that adds some useful features to the Internet Roadtrip (https://neal.fun/internet-roadtrip/) minimap.

  • Buttons!
    • Centre our position
    • Street View link for the current panorama
    • Street View coverage map link for our neighbourhood
    • Many more optional buttons (and a compass!), check the settings
  • Right click the map, car or a marker for even more options!
    • Add markers to the map (they are stored and come back when you refresh!)
    • Open Street View / the coverage map anywhere
    • Copy coordinates or put a marker at specified coordinates
  • Measure distances
    • Right click where you want to start measuring, then click to add points to the measuring line
    • Points added by clicking on the car will follow the car's position, giving you a live-updating measurement
    • Untick the checkbox in the top left corner of the map to disable line editing
    • Hover over the distance to get a very rough travel time estimate. Click the distance to show the whole measuring area.
    • Press the bin icon to discard the measurement
  • Preserve the zoom level when map re-centres, allow for custom default zoom levels
  • Customise the location marker image (for example to a little car)
  • Scale bar
  • Resize the map freely (both the big and small map mode remember their size separately!)
  • Add draggable markers by right-clicking (right-click marker to remove)
  • Setting to default to metric units and to show two decimal places in the odometer
  • Setting to expand the map automatically
  • Custom map and map background opacity
  • Correct location marker offset (current position is centred on the dot)

To change extension settings, click the black "puzzle" extension icon in the top right of the Roadtrip window.
