Indeed UX+ Userscript (v1.0.0)

This userscript enhances your Indeed experience by automatically revealing hidden reviews on company review pages, hiding all Archived, Saved & Applied Job Posts on job search pages, and enabling easy navigation through job posts using your Arrow keys.

Features:

  • Reveal Hidden Reviews: Automatically unhides reviews that might be obscured by "read more" buttons or similar UI elements on company review pages.
  • Hide Archived, Saved & Applied Jobs: Automatically hides all job posts on job search pages that are archived, saved, or you've applied to.
  • Arrow Key Navigation: Navigate through job posts on job search pages using the Arrow keys.

The script generally runs automatically when the page loads. If you need to re-apply its actions (for example, if new job posts load dynamically and aren't immediately hidden, or if you want to ensure all actions are re-processed), you can do so manually:

  1. Click the Tampermonkey extension icon in your browser's toolbar.
  2. Find 'Indeed UX+' in the list of active userscripts.
  3. Click on the 'Execute' command associated with it.

This will re-run the script's main functions, including hiding unwanted jobs and processing review visibility.

Limitations:

  • This script is not designed to be customizable, nor will I be adding new features beyond its current scope.
  • The script was created primarily for personal use, but I thought others might find it useful.
  • It does exactly what is outlined in the description. For example, if all job postings on a particular search results page are archived, saved, or applied, you will simply see no jobs listed.

Future Updates:

  • I will not be adding features such as:
    • Arrow key navigation between search result pages.
    • Applying themes.
    • Hiding jobs from specific employers.
    • Filtering jobs based on extensive criteria.
    • Hiding anything but all three job types (applied, archived & saved).

Simply put, if I come across other annoyances with the Indeed user experience that fall within the general theme of this script, I might consider future updates. Feel free to let me know if you encounter frustrating UX elements, and if I end up sharing your frustration, I might update the script.

Bugs & Feedback:

If you notice any bugs or have suggestions for improvement related to the existing features, please let me know! I’d appreciate it, as encountering bugs would be just as annoying for me as it is for you.

Commercial Use:

If you're interested in creating a more polished or commercial version of this userscript (one that aims to serve a wider audience), feel free to use my code as a starting point or take any parts that you find useful.
