Tampermonkey on Google Chrome only.
To specify a page as new tab, click Tampermonkey icon and select Set new tab page.
You will then be asked if you want to use current page as new tab.
Press OK to use current page. Press Cancel to enter URL.
Enter URL you want to use as new tab page (default is about:blank).
To reset new tab page to its default, just disable or uninstall this user script. ;p
