Facebook Reels Unmuter with Pause

I removed the extra player controls and brought it back to basics. This script:

  • Unmutes Reels when you open them
  • Pauses Reels when the tab is no longer active (feature removed in FB video player as of 09/03/2025)

Bugs:

  • May only work in English as it looks for the "Unmute" button. This may be translated in other locales.
  • It seems to play the audio for the next Reel when you click back onto a paused Reel's tab.
  • It will unmute any playing reel, including the small previews as you scroll
  • It will unmute and play any videos you scroll past
