Description

AI Email Assistant for GMAIL is a Tampermonkey userscript designed to assist users in generating email replies using AI. This script leverages the OpenAI API to analyze email conversations and provide suggested responses, making it easier for users to craft quick and thoughtful replies directly within Gmail.

Installation

  1. Install Tampermonkey: Ensure you have the Tampermonkey extension installed in your browser. You can download it from here.
  2. Add the Script: Click on the following link to add this script to your Tampermonkey dashboard: AI Email Assistant for GMAIL.
  3. Get OpenAI API Key: Obtain your OpenAI API key from OpenAI's website.

Usage Instructions

  1. Enter API Key: On the first use, you'll be prompted to enter your OpenAI API. This key is stored in your browser's local storage.
  2. Compose Email: Open Gmail and start composing a new email or reply to an existing one.
  3. Use AI Assistant:
    • Click the "Assistant AI" button in the window to generate reply suggestions.
    • Enter any additional instructions in the provided input field to customize the AI-generated responses.
  4. Select a Response: Choose one of the suggested short responses to see a detailed reply generated. Click on it to insert it into your email body.

How It Works

  • Button Creation: Adds a button and input field to the Gmail compose window for easy access.
  • API Interaction: Communicates with the OpenAI API to fetch AI-generated responses based on the email content and user input.
  • Response Options: Provides three short response options, which can be expanded into detailed replies.
