Thanks for the bug report, the issue should be fixed in the newest version (v2.2.1). The bug was only visible if the headmast is lowered from the advanced settings, hence why I didn't catch it.
The < symbol is actually a clickable button that hides/unhides the YouTube live chat. Please do give it a try if you ever need to close the chat sideways.

There may be a minor bug, there is a “<” icon in regular videos, not livestreams.
