As old layout engine for YouTube are now partially disabled, there is a script to fix some annoying things.
Version 2.9.0-pre warning: it's test build. If it breaks do following:
- report it with following data: browser (with version), extention for running userscripts (if any, with version);
- revert to version 2.8.0 through History tab;
- for future updates check script's page periodically to check if new version came out.
If someone knows how to make "channels" here (like "dev", "stable", etc), I'd like to know this too.
Settings are accessed through screwdriver and wrench icon at the header of page.
Currently inplemented options:
- align video player on the page;
- change YT logo target;
- cleanup video link parameters;
- collapse "guide" menu by default;
- constant video player size;
- display full video title;
- hide channel banners;
- hide/extend resume bar;
- hide suggestion blocks;
- modify watched video thumbnails;
- set video quality (disables auto quality);
- show exact view counts;
- smaller video thumbnails;
- stretch description to fill page;
- "try load more" button for some pages with dynamic content load;
- unstick header bar from top of the screen.
Before 2.5.0 settings were saved in YouTube's local storage. Settings will be transferred to userscript manager's storage after update (requires reload of any page). As of version 2.5.0 you can export/import settings on settings page.
Feedback and suggestions are welcomed (one suggestion/issue per thread, please).
Known possible issues:
- "try load more" button appear in unexpected places (create issue with full page URL if found any);
- video qualities above 2160p are missing as default quality (create issue with video url if found any).
